That list of influence is poorly constructed.

Although I despise more of these bands, some the most influential bands (in no particular order) would probably be:

-Rush
-Black Sabbath
-Metallica
-Led Zeppelin
-Death
-Opeth <---Trust me, they will be looked back to in the future for Progressive Death Metal.

Not necessarily the best in their genre, but they have done lots =/

Bleh, I'm putting a little bump into this thread because I found the Buckethead Discography in my inbox.

Some of you may have heard of him, most of you have not. Most people who pay attention to extremely talented guitarists would know about him =/

There are some very well done albums, especially the instrumental albums. Enjoy.

This megaissue is brought to you solely by Treebeard. Yes, there are more than 10 albums but I didn't want to break this up since all the albums are related. Don't get any crazy idea though because I'm not going to do megaissues for every artist...
Buckethead Discography!
Thanatopsis is a 3 piece band. The music is rock/funk/blues/improv based. Amazing guitar work.

The Deli Creeps, Bucketheads first band. This CD should NOT be missed. Awesome songs, funny frontman, great guitar. Rock/Metal.
Deli Creeps - Dawn of the Deli Creeps

The Cornbugs are a improv based band. Choptop Bill Mosely is in this! His vocal stylings are similar to those of Maximum Bob from the Deli Creeps. On the Cornbugs first 3 albums it was pretty much a "press record and go" type thing. Great stuff. On Donkey Town and Brain Circus we see more structure, the songs are actually composed beforehand it seems.

One of Bucketheads most well known recodings due to it's involvement with Serj Tankian of System of a Down this album is very diverse. It has some metal songs, some mellow songs, funky parts, weird parts and houses the amazing "Nottingham Lace" track as the CDs closer.
Buckethead & Friends - Enter the Chicken

The two Cobra Strike CDs that have been released consist of Buckethead shredding his ass off with the help of samples and drum machines. Incredible stuff. Check these out if you are in for a good face melting.
These CDs really introduce you to his soloing style and how magnificent it is although his style is definitly not for everyone... "Traitors Gate" on Cobra Strike 2 ftw. He destroys every technique possible in that song awesomely.

Island of Lost Minds is one of my favorite Buckethead CDs. On this CD he uses very dissonant sounds over hip hop/dub type beats to create a very hip hop/dub vibe. It can't be explained properly, thats how awesome this CD is.
Bucketheadland - Island of Lost Minds

Inbred Mountain is a tour of the Inbred Mountain part of Bucketheadland. Lots of Metal. Awesome riffs on this album.

Buckethead - The Elephant Mans Alarm Clock

Bucketheads most metal cd. This cd is a one hour ass pounding. Just when you think you are going to exceed the boundaries of chuggachugga he goes further. Just when you think you are going to exceed the bounardies of weedleweedle he goes further.
Buckethead - Cuckoo Clocks of Hell

Bucketheadland 2 is the follow up to the Bucketheadland CD. This CD chronicles the advancement in his theme park. Metal.

This CD is suggested the most on MX to try and hear if you want to see what Buckethead is about. All guitars on this album and nothing else. Very mellow, very sad, very beautiful. 235098235/10
